PRP Therapy for Thin Endometrium

How to solve IVF issues through PRP therapy?

There are times when couples do not have children; then, they could not do anything. But now, there is a solution to this problem through an IVF procedure. Still, there are some difficulties that one faces at times during IVF.

At times, while doing the IVF procedure, there is a need to postpone the embryo’s transfer as the endometrium’s thickness is not appropriate. From different studies, it has been found that the minimum thickness required during ultrasound readings should be 7mm. During the implantation process, the endometrium plays a very critical role. A biochemical communication among blastocyst and endometrium is there during implantation.

The hormones which lead to the preparation of the endometrium are progesterone and estrogen. If endometrium and estrogen do not respond to each other, then the thickness gets affected. Implantation will not be possible if the thickness of the endometrium is not appropriate.

This is why there is postponement or IVF cycle failure during the transfer of the embryo. So one should go for the PRP therapy for thin endometrium in Delhi.

Reasons for thin endometrium

  • Estrogen could not be able to respond due to pelvic infectious disease, uterine inflammations, and infections.
  • Curettage repetitiveness causes damage to the endometrium layer.
  • Asherman’s syndrome.
  • Regular use of anti-estrogenic medicines leads to low estrogen levels.
  • Treatments of cancer like radiotherapy, radical surgery, and chemotherapy can permanently affect the uterus’ lining.

Treatment

Less than 7 mm of the endometrium is considered thin and responsible for the frozen embryo transfer or cycle failure. Through the infusion into the uterus of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) improves endometrium thickness. This makes the base of endometrial receptivity improve for implanting blastocyst.

In the PRP, there are activating platelets that stimulate the action of growth factors and cytokines. They could not regulate differentiation, attachment, migration, and proliferation and promote extracellular matrix accumulation. As per the study, the infusion of PRP will improve the implantation and endometrial receptivity.

The procedure of PRP to treat thin endometrium

  • It is to be done before 48 hours of doing embryo transfer.
  • The platelet count of a patient is normal.
  • PRP’s preparation is done through the own blood, and it is collected from the vein of about 10 ml.
  • On the 10th day of the ART cycle, PRP’s preparation is done by doing double centrifugation.
  • The venous blood is taken out of about 8 to 10 ml from the pre-filled syringe, and for 10 min, it is centrifuged around 1500 g.
  • Then the buffy coat with the plasma is centrifuged and aspirated again for 10 min at 1000g.
  • Through a catheter into the uterine cavity, the PRP is infused.
  • After 48 to 72 hours, the reassessment of endometrial thickness is taken.
  • If the endometrial thickness is not appropriate, then the procedure of PRP infusion could be done 1 or 2 times more.

Many centers do PRP therapy for thin endometrium in Delhi, but one should choose the best in this field as experience must be done properly.
